I like to read. Anytime, all the time. Who wouldn’t want to visit new places and see new things from the comfort of a favorite chair? My husband would raise his hand to say, “that’s what movies are for”, but, let’s be real: books are better.
I’m not picky. I read all kinds of things: mystery, thriller, science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, historical, humor, and other fiction. And, yes, sometimes love stories are acceptable; it can be nice reading something that has a happy ending.
As much as I like to read, life does its best to get in the way. I work full-time, which is cool because I enjoy what I do and money is a necessary evil of life. I have kids who take most of my free time (finding socks and dragging them to activities is a full time job), and I have “adult responsibilities” that take most of the time that’s left. There’s also a very large, furry dog who believes the world mostly revolves around her when the kids aren’t interfering. And I decided to go back and get a masters degree because I really hate the idea of free time and thought extra stress sounded like a good idea.
So . . . books and kids and dog and work and school. And husband. That’s basically what I do and what I know. Or perhaps more accurately, that’s what I have opinions on. And wine and chocolate, which really ought to be daily dietary requirements.
